Me meli in tcs mela !
......which translates to 'i died in the tcs fair' for u non marathwada ppl ;-)
Where do i start? huge fair.. in Saboo Siddik..
Acc to Sam n Amar, around 1500 ppl turned up that day ! (the remainin were to appear the next day)
So used to sleepin late nights that by the time i started feelin sleepy, it was already time to get up :-( Sam had asked me to reach there early, so got there at 7.15 and was dead drowsy. But it was a good thing i got there early.. went in the first batch of students for the test. The apti was interesting : normal gre level verbal, math with quite a few qns without any options and analytical qns. no psychometry.
After the apti was when i started freaking out a bit, i wasnt worried about the results.. i was petrified of the interviews. i hadnt prepared one bit and i had this image in my head that theyll jus laugh at me in there ! There were times i thot in my head i shud jus fail the apti, so there r no complications of going for intv's ! Well i went for it anyways and i must say LUCK really counts.
The 2 guys (tech panel) let me talk all i wanted, about anything i wanted. So i just rambled on n on about my project, html, xml n stuff... largely because i dint really remember any of the stuff from college and expected them not to be very wel versed with xml n stuff.. but then they did ask me a few qns on html (turned out they knew) and C, C++ and SE , but pretty basic level , no programs (phew !) Then was the HR, which was again more of a technical. apparently one of those guys really knew about XML and asked me about XSL, DOM and also some stuff tht was alien to me :-( Then the other guy asked me bout my hobbies, to which i said reading egs blah blah and richard bach... turned out he read bach too... and we had a nice debate about his ideologies ! Isnt tht kool Diu ! :-D
Okk bottomline btw... they'll inform me in 7 days whether i got thru or not... U know, inspite of so many ppl there, the management was fabulous ... So well organised, and pretty disciplined..In spite of so many ppl , u hardly noticed the rush and things went on soo smoothlyI guess sam n amar really did an amazing job with the management !
They did a lot more than that actually. I had almost given up and quite many times in between i got pretty nervous And decided in my head tht im going home. Ill jus make a fool of myself in teh interviews. But havin them around was like the moral strength u need when u go for ur board exams or something. Sam helped a lot , guiding me through the whole thing. There was no way i wud have got tht far without him. And Amar was there telling me about his own interview in TCS, and how i should handle mine
Hey btw , did i mention they were both so smitten by this friend of mine, HK :-) that they confessed it broke thier lil hearts when she dint get thru
Well then i got home and slept for a straight 15 hrs
Lifes back to normal again :D
the tcs walk-in thru sam's eyes.
